Cambodia has never wished for war. Having endured the hardships of past conflicts, we understand all too well the devastating impact war brings and the destruction of a nation, the loss of innocent lives, and the countless long-term consequences that follow.

However, the recurrence of Thailand’s alleged incursions, including violations of Cambodia’s red line and the use of heavy weaponry and F-16 aircraft, has caused severe damage to our infrastructure and resulted in the deaths of both soldiers and civilians. These actions have left Cambodia with no choice but to respond in order to safeguard our sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We firmly condemn what we view as a brutal act of aggression. Cambodia urgently calls upon the international community to intervene, reinforce the ceasefire, and reaffirm its commitment to peace so that stability and normalcy may be restored.
