3. Friends tell you four benefits.
A- A friend who knows how to forbid a friend from doing harm. A friend who knows how to forbid a friend from doing evil is like seeing a friend walking into a minefield and forbids a friend from entering because he is afraid of danger.
B- A friend who knows how to guide a friend to do good deeds. A friend who knows how to lead a friend to do good is like leading a friend to dig for treasure.
C- A friend who knows how to guide a friend to listen to words that he has never heard before. This refers to words that are good advice and deliverance from sin, such as the teachings of the Dharma or the advice of a teacher or an elder who is good at guiding his children and grandchildren to the right understanding, etc.
D- A friend who knows how to tell a friend the way to heaven. There are some things that we humans, even if we are smart, cannot know everything about, such as on the journey to the next world. If we do not rely on the teachings of the Blessed One, we will naturally have misunderstandings. Therefore, having a knowledgeable friend who is knowledgeable in this matter is very beneficial.
4. There are four types of friends who are able to feel pain and sorrow
A- A friend who is not happy when a friend is in trouble. There are five types of trouble: 1 loss of relatives, 1 loss of property, 1 loss of health, 1 loss of morals, and 1 loss of vision. This type of friend is always compassionate and sympathetic to his friend when he has problems like the above and helps him find a way to solve them.
B- A friend who is happy when his friend is prosperous. This type of friend is always kind-hearted, that is, he is happy with it, not jealous when his friend gets wealth or fame, etc., and only encourages and protects him.
C- A friend who knows how to forbid people who say bad things about his friend. This type of friend is always pained by his friend, protects his friend's honor, and if someone says bad things about his friend, he always forbids them immediately. This means that he is not a person who speaks lightly or is like a buffalo in a stream that turns in any direction.
D- A friend who knows how to praise someone who speaks well of a friend or of the friend's virtues. We humans always have good and bad points. If someone talks about the bad points of a friend, it must be forbidden. However, if someone talks well of a friend who is good, it must be praised more for two benefits: first, to eliminate envy of the friend's goodness, and second, to make the friend behave better. Not associating with evil people is the highest auspiciousness in the 38 auspiciousness sutras, including not associating with evil people in the first auspiciousness, which he considered the highest auspiciousness, as the Buddha stated, assevāna ca paalānam, etc.
There are four types of good friends, and their characteristics are as follows:
A-Friends who are helpful: Friends who are helpful
• Are happy to have friends visit
• When friends insult, they help protect
• When friends are afraid, they take refuge in their friends
• When friends are in need, they always help to the best of their ability
• Are tolerant, and know how to forgive friends who have done wrong.
B-Friends who are compassionate (one heart and one mind)
• Tell secrets to friends
• When friends are in need, they do not abandon friends
• Endure death with friends, even sacrifice their lives for friends
• Help hide friends' secrets, love friends' friends and hate friends' enemies.
C-Friends who advise benefits or friends who advise to do good
• Seeing friends about to do something destructive, they forbid them
• Guide friends to stay in good things
• Let friends know what friends have never heard
• Tell friends the way to heaven.
D-Friends are kind
• When friends are sad, you also feel sad
• When friends are happy, you also feel happy
• When friends are criticized, you also help to defend them
• You miss your friends when you have delicious food
• When friends are praised, you also help to praise them more.

Destruction No one wants destruction, but always wants happiness in life. Some of these desires are fulfilled as desired, and some are not fulfilled as desired.
19 Causes of Destruction
The word "destruction" means "destruction, loss, destruction, damage, disaster" that befalls people in this world who commit evil deeds with their bodies, speech, and minds. There are many causes of destruction, such as:
1st Destruction: Hatred of Dharma
Dharma does not belong to any god or individual. Dharma governs all people on this earth to be kind. Dharma in this context refers to good deeds, which are the nature that makes the world progress. Hatred of Dharma is divided into three types:
A. Not liking to do good deeds, only doing evil deeds, persecuting, killing, envying, and slandering others, happily without thinking about merit or demerit, as long as they are happy, they do not care how much suffering others may suffer. Most of these people are people who do not think about the future.
B. Criticizing those who do good, saying that they themselves have not done good, and even criticizing those who do good, saying, "You try to do good, but soon you will get good." .
C. Criticizing those who study the Dharma is because they themselves are stingy and stingy, they do not like to learn, know, and have knowledge, do not know what is good or bad, and then criticize those who study the Dharma as lazy people who only want to enjoy themselves and get away with it. This insulting and disparaging of those who study the Dharma is because they have a pessimistic attitude towards the Dharma, saying that the Dharma makes people lazy, makes people poor, and makes them weak, to the point of begging, sleeping in the streets, and causing the country to suffer. The Dharma does not teach people to be lazy or lazy, but rather teaches people to be diligent in all their work.
The second destruction is because of the love of pleasure. The term "unkind" refers to a person who commits immoral acts such as gambling, women, alcohol, and drug use, which, from the outside, may seem to bring joy, but in reality, they contain a cruel poison when we become addicted to them.
* The six characteristics of unkind people
A wicked person can talk and dress nicely, just like us, but inside they are full of evil deeds and sins. Unkind people like to do the following six things:
A. Likes to drink alcohol and take drugs often
B. Likes to go out late at night and stay up late
C. Likes to watch movies and dances too much
D. Likes to play gambling and other gambling games
E. Has many bad friends
F. Is lazy and does not make an effort to study or work.
All people should stay away from unkind people who have the above characteristics. If someone likes to socialize, that person is stepping onto the wrong path, a dangerous path, and a path to destruction.
* The six characteristics of a good person
A. A person who is knowledgeable, has deep knowledge, and can be a source of support for others to ask about good knowledge and experiences.
B. A person who is moral, ethical, and well-mannered, is grateful, has no prejudices, and is not self-centered.
C. A person who is diligent in learning, understands each other, is patient, and has high virtues.
D. A person who is wise and skillful in solving problems peacefully.
E. A person who knows what is beneficial and what is not beneficial and should not be done.
J. A good person who can eliminate our doubts.
The third destruction is because he hates good people
Wherever a bee flies, there are fragrant flowers as gifts. Good people are no different from bees. Wherever they go, there is always prosperity because they have given happiness and prosperity to others.
* Who are good people?
Anyone who has ever helped us, even if it is just a glass of water or a bowl of rice, is considered to have done us a favor. Good people are those who have good intentions for us as follows:
A. Buddha
B. Parents
C. Monks who have maintained good behavior and speech
D. Elders, elders, and elders in the family
E. Teachers, teachers, and mentors.
All of the above individuals are those who have the intention of making us happy and prosperous. They never educate their children to do wrong, but only advise and discipline their children to do good deeds, study, and learn, etc.
The fourth ruin is because they sleep too much
Getting enough sleep at night is essential for health. If we do not sleep enough, our physical health can deteriorate, causing illness and disease. However, we should not sleep too much, because it leads to loss of time and opportunities for work. The Buddha said, “Sleeping too much leads to ruin” as follows:
A. Sleeping too much during the day causes missed opportunities
B. Not being able to manage the family
C. Being called lazy
D. Being criticized.
Give up sleeping too much. Set a proper time. Don't let time eat you up. We have to eat our time.
The fifth disaster is because we talk too much
Communication through words is essential for living in society. Words are an important means of imparting knowledge or earning a living. An ancient proverb says, "Words are one, numbers are two, letters are three." It means that knowing how to speak is first, knowing how to calculate is second, and knowing how to write well is third. It is better to be good at words than knowing how to calculate and writing well.
Speaking good words makes people happy to listen, on the contrary, if you speak bad words, they don't want to listen, put their hands over their ears and walk away.
The sixth disaster is because of laziness
Laziness is an obstacle to all work. Any task can be accomplished only with effort, perseverance, and patience. As a Buddhist proverb says, “Viriyena dukkhamachati,” “One can escape from suffering by making an effort.”
* The six punishments of laziness
A person is lazy because he/she makes the following six excuses:
A. Not working because it is too cold.
B. Not working because it is too hot.
C. Not working because it is too late.
D. Not working because it is too early.
E. Not working because he/she is too hungry.
F. Not working because he/she is too thirsty.
When a person is lazy because of these six excuses, he/she will suffer two bad consequences: the wealth that is ready to be born will not be born, and the wealth that has already been born will be lost.
Time that has passed cannot be brought back, so do not be lazy and let good opportunities pass by. As the ancient proverb says, “Time is gold and silver,” meaning that we should strive to do all the work, whether it is seeking wealth or Studying, etc.
The 7th destruction because of being angry
Anger is a fire that burns itself. People who are angry a lot are not liked by everyone, which causes destruction by various things. The Khmer saying goes, “Be angry wrongly, be angry.” Therefore, everyone must try to bite their lips, suppress their feelings, hold the sword of patience, and let go of anger.
* The punishment of anger
A. Having a bad complexion, red face, frowning, and wrinkled eyebrows.
B. Being sad, unhappy, hot-tempered, unable to sleep, and unable to breathe.
C. Solving problems with anger is always detrimental.
D. Losing wealth when angry, breaking dishes, pots, or burning houses, etc.
E. Having a bad reputation.
F. Falling into the village.
* Ways to release anger
If, when we are angry, do not get angry and cause problems, find ways to release anger. There are 6 ways to release anger:
A. Reflecting on good deeds What they have done to us, such as when we are angry with our parents, etc.
B. Spread kindness and compassion to people who have done wrong.I think that no one wants to be wronged.
C. Consider that all people have their own karma, that is, we have bad deeds from the past that are why wrongs are done to us.
D. Think about the root cause clearly.
E. Be with people who are patient and know how to calm us down.
F. Talk about happy things, do not talk about things that make us angry.
If you can follow the above instructions, you will be able to release your anger and you will not have to lose anything.
The 8th Destruction Because of Not Supporting Parents
Parents are a great blessing because they gave us birth. The mother was pregnant for 9 months and 10 days and gave birth to us. The old saying goes, "Crossing the river." The ancients compared childbirth to crossing the river because childbirth and crossing the river are both dangerous. We know that crossing the river by boat is always dangerous to life, because in some seasons there are floods that flood the fields, the rivers are raging, the winds are strong, the waves are breaking the flowers, it looks very big. People cross the river every time they cross it, it is considered lucky. And the birth of a mother is also like that, it often encounters dangers to the mother's life.
* If I were a child, how would I raise my parents?
There are two cases of raising my parents that a child can fulfill:
A. Physically raising them, which is to give them food, water, money, clothes, a blanket, give them water to bathe, and do housework, etc.
B. Emotionally raising them, which is not to make them feel bad, not to fight with their siblings, not to play ball. Do not bring bad things into the house, do not associate with bad friends, be obedient, work hard to learn, do not shirk work.
If a son or daughter respects and serves and is grateful to their parents, that child will be happy, prosperous, and successful in all their endeavors in life.
The 9th Destruction: Because of Deception
Deception of others is both illegal and immoral. This act arises from greed, insatiability, and wanting what others have to make their own
By straying from the path of dharma. As the Khmer proverb says, “The heart of a woman is inside, the heart of a bamboo is outside, the heart of a person is straight and speaks the truth.”
The 10th Destruction: Because of stealing and eating alone
Some people, when they are poor and hungry in the morning and evening, run to beg for food. They feel pity and share some to share with others. On the other hand, ungrateful people, when they have delicious things, are stingy and stingy. Stealing someone without letting anyone know. But this act cannot be hidden forever, it will be discovered at some point.
If you do not give up this hypocritical thought, do not hope to rely on anyone else. You will not be able to trust people with dishonest hearts.
The 11th destruction of looking down on your relatives
Some selfish people have wealth and a little knowledge, but they are too arrogant and dare to look down on their relatives, thinking that their relatives are poor and ignorant. I should not go and find them and bring them down. Let's wait and see if there is a day of disaster, such as a house fire or a contagious disease. Who will they turn to for help other than their relatives? They do not dare to help because they are afraid of being hurt by their help.
We do not know when disasters will happen, so we should try to respect our relatives for protection. The ancient proverb says, "The rich protect their wealth like a fence from the outside. The wise protect their hearts like a ship in a sampan."
The 12th Destruction Because of liking to play with women
Nature created men and women to be husband and wife, which is normal for humans. However, due to greed and insatiable lust, people dare to commit immoral acts, have no shame, have a wife and are unfaithful, steal and have another woman without their wives knowing. They earn money and give it to prostitutes because indulging in sexual pleasures damages their honor and dignity.
* Consequences of liking to play with women
Indulging in sexual pleasures leads to problems such as:
A. Loss of time, loss of gold and money.
B. Doing unfinished work.
C. Having conflicts in the family, leading to violence.
D. Damage to honor and reputation.
E. Having many diseases such as AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, syphilis, tuberculosis, etc.
The 13th Destruction Because of drinking alcohol
Sora is a word from the Pali language that translates to courage and bravery. Alcohol is considered a medicine to relieve worries, create a happy atmosphere for meeting friends, and create intimacy. A man who does not know how to drink alcohol is called a coward with a feminine character. But if you think about it seriously, alcohol is a poison, a deadly virus, because it makes people lose their minds, dare to do immoral and unethical things, kill people, steal, rape, etc.
* Consequences of drinking alcohol
According to medical rules, alcohol causes many health hazards, such as liver disease, lung disease, stomach disease, loss of cells to support the body, and damage the brain.
From the Buddhist perspective, alcohol causes six bad effects:
A. Loss of wealth, money, and time.
B. Causes conflicts, arguments, fights, and violence in the family.
C. The body is afflicted with diseases and afflictions.
D. Loss of honor and reputation, people are afraid of being shamed and do not dare to socialize.
E. Talking openly about scandals in the family, such as cursing the daughter or not being ashamed to walk naked.
C. Unable to control the mind.
14th Destruction Because of Gambling
“Gambling always destroys” This is an ancient Khmer saying from a long time ago. It is not regular. Today we win, the next day they will win. It is a gully of all destructions, always pulling people who are addicted to gambling to death.
* The punishment of gambling
The punishment of gambling can be seen clearly with our eyes. The Buddha taught in the Preah Tripitaka, Part III..... that gambling leads to six punishments, namely:
A. When someone wins, they will always be defeated, and they will take revenge and win.
B.. When you lose, you will experience suffering and regret.
C. Loss of property, land, and farmland.
D. They do not trust you, and you do not listen to them.
E. Friends hate you and lose your friendship.
F. If a man cannot raise his children, if a woman does not come to court, they do not complain.
15th disaster, because you are not happy with your wife
When men are not married, they often say that they will be faithful for life and will not break up. But when they get married and have a few children, their wives get older, their skin becomes wrinkled, and their appearance is no longer beautiful, they will change their minds and think of new things. Being unfaithful to their wives and falling in love with other women can lead to family problems.
As the Khmer proverb says, “Many feet, few ashes” means that a man who has many wives is not rich in gold and silver, because the gold and silver earned must be divided into many parts.
16th Destruction Because of Being Difficult to Discipline
A difficult person is a person with a stubborn character, a view: not listening to explanations and instructions from others, winning according to one's own will, refusing to follow others. Words of advice are not listened to, rules are not read, where will the ability to remember come from? If there is still such stubbornness, as long as the benefits of the content are destroyed, they will surely be destroyed.
* The thoughts of a difficult person
They are difficult to discipline because they have the following thoughts:
A. Thinking that they are younger than me, their thoughts are not as good as mine.
B. Thinking that they have learned less than me, their knowledge is not as good as mine.
C. Thinking that they are of a lower status than me, and have no right to discipline me.
D. Thinking that they are poorer than me, and have no ability to discipline me.
E. Thinking that they have an ugly appearance than me.
C. Thinking that if I listen to them, I will be inferior.
G. Thinking that if I listen to them, they will be looked down upon.
17th Destruction: Taking a Young Wife
A man who is too old and lustful takes a young woman as his wife, which leads to destruction. Usually, women are still young, full of lust, wanting to be beautiful, want to have fun, want expensive jewelry, want to have different things, show off, want to be praised, want to have a car, want to have a lot of money to spend. Therefore, an old man must find someone to please her. If she doesn't like it, she will think of finding someone else.
18th Destruction: Some people are too lazy to be big
A society needs leaders, and those leaders must be wise, doing what they can to make it happen, for the common good, not just for their own benefit. Being big should not waste time, money, or gold, which will lead to future shortages.
19th Destruction: Wanting too much
A desire that is too big beyond what one can do can lead to anger, regret, and unhappiness when one fails to achieve one's goals. Some people claim to be born into a noble family, do not strive to improve their abilities, and are eager to become great. If such a person becomes great, destruction will not only befall him, but also destroy others.
