Benefit 1
01. The Endowment Of Industriousness The endowment of industriousness is the pursuit of all kinds of wealth, both tangible and intangible. Countries in the world have been and are continuing to be engaged in intensive production to increase the production of products to meet the needs of both domestic and foreign countries. Production can take place and provide sufficient products only when there is hard work and effort, and food can be eaten to meet the needs of the body. Enduring through effort is standing up with a spirit of struggle, not afraid of getting tired, in the pursuit of wealth, which is a righteous occupation, a noble occupation in accordance with the current circumstances. The work of striving to acquire wealth is an important duty for all householders. The Buddha taught everyone to strive to fulfill their duties and to give up all laziness and laziness. In the Sutta Nivat, Orakavaganga Parabhava Sutta, 6th Chapter, 3rd Chapter, the Blessed One answers the problem of the devas as follows: “Nidtasili, sabhasili, anuthatata, cayo noro also kodhapannano, tamparabhavato mukham” which translates to “A person who sleeps a lot, talks a lot, does not speak a lot, is lazy, and is certainly angry, these are the causes of destruction.” According to the above Buddhist proverb, it is clear that a lazy person who does not work hard and cannot make himself useful to society, let alone become a good Buddhist, because he cannot fully satisfy the will of the Buddha. Wealth cannot be born to a lazy person. A person without a job is a poor person, worse than a dead tree floating in the water. Because a dead tree, when it is pulled out of the water, will definitely be used for some benefit, while a lazy person who does not do his work is like a crow, only disturbing others. Buddhism emphasizes karma and its fruits. Karma is the work that a living being must do, and fruits are what is achieved through that work. Therefore, the manifestation of karma does not make people weak in spirit, but in fact makes people more conscious, attentive to fully complete the work they are doing, and confident that whether they will become a lowly or noble person depends on the work they are doing, without leaving their fate to any deity or deity. Work can divide living beings into noble or lowly, so let everyone strive to do good work that is free from sin, which is called "right occupation", along with happiness and joy in the results achieved from good work. It is important to know that there is no achievement without struggle in fulfilling one's duties. It is just that sometimes achievement comes from current work and sometimes from past work. Understanding the results of work in this way can make us recognize all the results of work with a calm mind, no matter how small or large the result of that work is. According to some views, believing in the teachings of the Buddha has made people poor or weak-minded, unable to take steps towards prosperity. When they understand this and say this, no one can stop their thoughts or words, because they have not studied the teachings of the Buddha clearly. They only believe according to their eyes and ears. They have not opened their eyes of understanding to study and search for the truth of this religion. If they do not believe in their eyes and ears too much and return to studying the Buddha's words carefully, a hundred or even a thousand times, they will be able to abandon these thoughts and words, and only praise the teachings of the Buddha without fail. In the Tikkanika Nikaya, the Therakatha, the Matangaputtarakatha states: “While one is engaged in the activities of abandoning (thinking) that it is too cold, too hot, or too late. If a person, when he has made the mind of a man, neglects cold and heat, to a greater extent, that person will not be deprived of happiness.” People who do not pay attention to their livelihood, make excuses like this and that, do not work hard, are sleepy and dreamy, etc., no different from unemployed people, because before long, even the work they have will collapse, and they will become disabled and have limbs. Wanting pleasure and lacking effort will not be able to get rid of suffering. Effort and effort are the greatest blessings for everyone, because they lead beings to be free from suffering, as the Blessed One has stated: “Viryana dukkha macheti = through effort, suffering is overcome.” Some livelihood activities, such as farming, government work, etc., may seem like work for each individual, but in reality, if you look closely, all righteous livelihood activities are done for the benefit of oneself and the honor of the entire nation. Because it can be seen that a country is developing by measuring the living standards of its people. Let everyone have their own work to rely on, and do not rely on others to take their breath away. The act of achieving success through effort is the first work for benefit. In the present, most people often confuse it with greed. Therefore, when an article talks about the punishment of greed, they often have a negative opinion because they think that the article condemns their efforts and does not want others to have it. In this regard, there is a deficiency. Regarding the happiness of some people who only say a few words: "Don't try too hard, you will die, you will not get it."
The virtue of the ability is diligence, but the virtue of greed is attachment. The virtue of the ability is to strive to find wealth through good work, to renounce sin, to renounce wrong livelihood, which is a great virtue. The will to be satisfied with the work that does not bring sin is a support for the effort, not to put down the burden because of laziness. Therefore, the virtue of the ability is always serious in its cause, the work is clean and does not look down on the person who has come, because it is the result of the work that renounces sin. No matter how little or much the result is, there is happiness, joy in the wealth that is the result, as it is, satisfied in the mind, understanding the truth that the result that has been achieved is appropriate according to the reason, like the number 10, it is the result of the number 5 plus the number 5. Greed does not focus on the cause, which is to do the work properly, and is always heavy on the results achieved. Because the mind is so attached to the results, it is the result that leads to doing dirty work, such as the five types of business, selling alcohol, selling women, selling drugs, poisons, and poisons. They sell everything without understanding the consequences. They raise chickens, ducks, crocodiles, pigs, and so on. On the other hand, if the item is suitable for sale, but because of greed for profit, they dare to lie in various ways. There are other occupations, such as stealing, cheating, cheating on the scales, pretending to be pure, pretending to be real, pretending to be from the past, etc. There are many dirty and sinful works because greed is attached to the results. Even if the work does not harm other beings or people, the nature of greed is to be heavily attached to the wealth that is the result, to be anxious and anxious to seek. It is different from the principle of fitness, which is heavy in the cause, which is to be clean in work, to have morality, to have right view as a means of control, to be satisfied with the occupation or livelihood that is pure, to be grateful for the results obtained, that is, not to let greed, wealth, and gain overwhelm the mind and lead a wrong life. All work is accomplished through effort, all work in the world that can be accomplished depends on great effort. Learning, if you give up effort, how can you gain knowledge and knowledge to move from ignorance to wisdom. If you are ignorant and uneducated, how can you find happiness? But if you give up effort, how can you have resources, gold, silver, houses, cars, and so on, and they will come easily. How can you escape poverty and be reborn in a high family? Unless we work hard and tirelessly, day and night, and even eat, we hardly have enough to eat. We walk, we run, we rest, we steal, we earn wealth, and we don't waste time and know how to spend it properly. We don't just spend it as we want, only to see the shadow of those riches come near us. As the Buddhist proverb says, "Udhana, Vinta, Thanam", the rich often strive to gain wealth. After all, the ancients told us, "Don't wait for tomorrow, do what you want." How should we overcome obstacles in life? We all have different experiences, but many of us can successfully overcome the storms of life, but those who have a lot of understanding, combined with perseverance and perseverance. The Buddha, the Lord, demonstrated the power of Dhamma, which is the dharma that drives us to achieve four things:
1. Will, the desire for the work, wanting the work to be completed according to our wishes.
In giving alms, the intention to maintain morality, the intention to engage in a career that is free from sin, the intention to engage in work that benefits oneself and others, etc. are all good intentions that should be cultivated. All work does not have to be heavy or difficult to do. Even light work cannot be done if there is a lack of willpower. Part 02
